Corruption case against Union Minister Virbhadra Singh

New Delhi: A court in Himachal Pradesh has framed corruption charges against union minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife, Pratibha.

The case against Mr Singh dates back to 1989, when he was chief minister of the state. The charges are based on a CD that reportedly has the minister talking about financial irregularities in the context of industrialists who wanted to invest in Himachal Pradesh. The CD was released in 2007 by a political rival, Vijai Singh Mankotia.
